After being referred to Claire and Braecrest by several people, we pursued the connection.  Arriving with a 5-year-old mare for Claire to break was one of the smartest things that we have done. Not only was Vienetta broke without force and artificial tools, she developed a wonderful will to please her handlers/riders. This led to another young horse of our being sent to Braecrest, Signature Canvas, not long after. The education, and conditioning mentally and physically that Signa received during her stay at Braecrest, prepared her for showing at the Royal Winter Fair 2008, and she won the Senior Champion Thoroughbred Mare class!

Not only does Claire take the time that the individual horse needs she is able to have them working to their potential in a timely manner.  We now have another one of our offspring at Claire’s knowing that he will have a chance at the same gentle, but serious training.

Having had the pleasure of working with Claire at a CSHA mare inspection and she was nothing less than professional.  She is an enthusiastic horsewoman that wants to have others share with their horses in many ways. She offers to teach horse owners how to work their own young horses by holding, “long lining” and “show your horse on the line,” clinics, as well as working one on one.  She hosted a CSHA/Open horse show in 2009 and will be hosting another one in 2010.

We also have witnessed the way that she works with her other clients as well as the public in general, her professionalism is part of who she is.

We know she takes pride in her work, as well as herself.

We have recommend Claire to others, and their experience was very similar to ours.  We will continue to spread the word that Braecrest and Claire Hunter are the place to have your horse trained or retrained, you won’t be disappointed!
