We have always been so fortunate and grateful for the excellent results our horses have had over the years at the Toronto Royal Agricultural Winter Fair, and this year was no exception!

Braecrest Avant-Garde (Harley) and Braecrest Odair (Finnick) were presented in the Canadian Sport Horse President’s Cup against 10 other outstanding Canadian-bred foals on Saturday, November 11th, 2023. Rachel Kennedy, Brookeville, MD, and Robert Crandall, Wellington, FL, judged the classes and awarded the two Braecrest entries top honours! Braecrest Avant-Garde, owned by Kim Kerr of Orangeville, ON, took 2nd place, and Braecrest Odair, owned by Julia Parulski of Loretto, Ontario, who took the win!

Braecrest Odair (out of Braecrest Katniss) went on to compete in the Junior Championship class and claimed the Champion title. Most exciting, though, was when he brought home the Grand Champion Canadian Sport Horse ribbon! It is very rare for a weanling to win the Grand Champion since they are against all the older age groups. This was a huge compliment to our breeding program.

Congratulations to the owners, Kim and Julia, on your fabulous first Royal debut! Very exciting futures ahead for these boys, no doubt. A special thank you to Cheryl Coulter Preziuso for sharing her beautiful broodmare ‘Encore’ with us to bring Braecrest Avant-Garde into the world!

Both Braecrest Katniss and Encore are expecting 2024 foals that are full siblings to this year’s Royal winners!  For more information, CONTACT CLAIRE
